Lake County Privacy Notice

Information You Submit

A name or location entered into a search box is sent to the third-party provider that operates that tool. Lake County Busted Mugshots does not store or log those search terms on its own systems. A message sent by email or a contact form may be retained long enough to respond. Messages are not shared outside the organization unless law requires disclosure.

Automatic Technical Data

Ordinary web logs and measurement tools may collect technical details when a page loads:

  • IP address and timestamp
  • Browser name and version
  • Device type and operating system
  • Pages visited and time spent
  • The referring page, when supplied

Cookies help measure how visitors use the site. Browser controls can block them, although some functions may then work differently.

How Data Is Used

Collected information may keep pages available, route a query to the chosen search provider, identify useful content, diagnose technical problems, and support advertising that may reflect interests. The site does not sell personal data.

Other Sites and Providers

Links lead to sheriff pages, jail contacts, Indiana MyCase, public-record portals, corrections locators, news outlets, and outside search tools. Once a visitor follows one, that operator's privacy terms govern. Analytics providers and ad networks may process activity on their own systems and may measure visits across sites.

Possible Data Recipients

Information may be handled by search partners carrying out a query, analytics providers, advertising networks, and government or law-enforcement authorities acting under a valid legal order.

Security Limits

Reasonable security practices are used, but no internet-connected service can promise perfect security. Transmission or storage cannot be guaranteed breach-proof.

Visitors Under Eighteen

The site is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under eighteen. A parent or guardian may use the contact route to request deletion if a minor submitted information.

Your Privacy Choices

Subject to applicable law and verification, a person may ask for a copy of data held about them, request a correction, seek deletion, or object to certain processing. Indiana's Access to Public Records Act concerns government records and does not turn this private site's logs into county records.

Notice Updates

This notice may change as services or legal duties change. A revised version takes effect when posted with its new effective date.

Effective August 22, 2026.
